Individual Counselling

Supporting You on Your Personal Journey

Individual counselling is a one-on-one, confidential service designed to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and supportive space. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or simply seeking personal growth, counselling offers a chance to better understand yourself and make meaningful changes in your life.

Why Choose Individual Counselling?

Life can be overwhelming, and it’s normal to need support. Individual counselling can help you:

   •    Gain clarity and insight into personal struggles
   •    Cope with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma
   •    Navigate major life transitions or relationship issues
   •    Build self-esteem and emotional resilience
   •    Develop practical strategies for change and personal growth

What to Expect

Your counsellor will work with you at your own pace, providing guidance, empathy, and tools tailored to your unique needs. Sessions typically last 50 minutes and may include open conversation, goal setting, reflection, or learning new coping techniques.

Our Therapeutic Approaches

We use a range of evidence-based methods, including:
   •    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Challenge and change unhelpful thinking patterns
   •    Person-Centered Therapy: Foster self-understanding and acceptance
   •    Psychodynamic Therapy: Explore how past experiences influence present behavior
   •    Solution-Focused Therapy: Identify practical steps forward

Your Space to Grow

Individual counselling isn’t about giving advice or quick fixes—it’s about helping you discover your own strength, build resilience, and find clarity in a supportive environment. Wherever you are in your journey, we’re here to walk beside you.

Couples Counselling

Reconnect, Communicate, and Grow Together

Relationships can be incredibly rewarding-but they can also be challenging. Couples counselling provides a supportive, neutral space for partners to explore issues, improve communication, and rebuild connection. Whether you’re facing conflict, feeling distant, or simply want to strengthen your bond, therapy can help you move forward—together.

What is Couples Counselling?

Couples counselling involves working with a trained therapist to address challenges in your relationship. It’s not about assigning blame-it’s about understanding each other better, resolving conflict in healthy ways, and building a stronger foundation.

How Can It Help?

Couples counselling can support you in:
   •    Improving communication and emotional connection
   •    Resolving recurring conflicts or misunderstandings
   •    Rebuilding trust after betrayal or infidelity
   •    Managing major life changes (parenthood, career shifts, loss, etc.)
   •    Exploring issues around intimacy, boundaries, and expectations
   •    Making decisions about the future of the relationship

What to Expect in a Session

Sessions typically involve both partners and are guided by a licensed counsellor. The therapist facilitates open, respectful conversations and helps you develop tools to understand and support one another. Sessions usually last 50–60 minutes and are scheduled weekly or biweekly.

Therapeutic Approaches We Use

   •    Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Strengthens emotional bonds and secure attachment
   •    Gottman Method: Focuses on improving communication, trust, and conflict resolution
   •    Solution-Focused Therapy: Helps couples find actionable steps to create change
   •    Integrative Therapy: Tailored techniques based on your specific relationship dynamics

A Step Toward Healing and Connection

Every relationship has its ups and downs. Couples counselling is a proactive step toward healing, deeper connection, and lasting growth. Whether you’re in crisis or just looking to reconnect, we’re here to support you both.

MY APPROACH

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

As a integrative relational counsellor I blend different therapeutic approaches to create a tailored experience for each client with a strong focus on the power of human relationships.

This approach recognises that who we are is shaped by our past experiences, emotional world, and the relationships we have had throughout life. Healing begins in a safe, trusting relationship where you feel truly seen, heard and accepted.

  • With over two decades in Adult Nursing and the past few years immersed in counselling I have come to see how interconnected our emotional wellbeing and physical wellbeing truly are.

  • I am a registered member of the BACP.

  • I hold a BSC in nursing and a Masters level Diploma in Relational Counselling.

WHAT DOES INTEGRATIVE MEAN

I will draw from a range of theories and methods, depending on your unique needs.

These may include:
   •    Person-Centred Therapy – offering empathy and unconditional positive regard
   •    Psychodynamic Therapy – exploring how past relationships and experiences affect you today
   •    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – addressing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors
   •    Attachment Theory – understanding how early bonds impact current relationships

I will blend these approaches into a personalised, flexible way of working that evolves as you do.

SPECIALTIES

  • My counselling services encompass support for adults and couples seeking to enhance their relationships.

  • I also have extensive experience working with individuals who are living with chronic illness.
